Dee Person, B.S., P.F.T, E-RYT 500, A.H.P, and Meditation Instructor

Founder of  StudioDEE GIRLS Institute ™ and Owner of StudioDEE Integrative Wellness

Dee is the premiere Mind, Body, and Wellness provider in the Main Line and Greater Philadelphia area. An Annapolis graduate and female combat veteran having served in the Persian Gulf during military Operations Iraqi Freedom and Enduring Freedom, Dee is a Naval Officer currently serving at her present rank of Lieutenant Commander in the Navy Reserve Forces.

Yoga Education and Training:
Dee has been practicing yoga for 12 years and is a Registered Yoga Teacher (RYT) through Yoga Alliance and is a member of the International Association of Yoga Therapists (IAYT). Dee completed her 200 hour yoga training course at with Silvia Mordini at Total Body Yoga Studio in Chicago, IL. She went on to specialize in Yoga Therapy and earned her 500 RYT certification atInner Peace Yoga Therapy School, based in Durango, CO, one of only 12 yoga therapy schools accredited by the International Association of Yoga Therapists. Dee has studied under national teachers Nischala Joy Devi (yoga for heart disease), Amy Weintraub (Yoga for Depression), Antonio Sausys (yoga for cancer), Dr. Marc Halpern ( Ayurveda), Anne Douglas (Meditation), and Shar Lee (Yoga Therapy), and Mira Binzen (Yoga for Kids). She has received training from field experts Dr. Bessel van der Kolk (Boston University) in trauma and Dr. Lorenzo Alfonzo (MD Anderson Cancer Center, Houston Texas) in cancer prevention and attends yearly training in these fields.

A Philadelphia native, Dee attended high school at Villa Maria Academy in Malvern, PA where she served as team captain of the 1994 state champion field hockey team, was a 1st team All-State selection in field hockey, stand-out in track and swimming, and senior class president. Dee continued her education at the United States Naval Academy in Annapolis, Maryland where she completed her Bachelors of Science degree and earned a commission as an Officer in the United States Navy. During her collegiate athletic career, Dee was the 1996 National Collegiate Champion in Powerlifting for her weight class and held national collegiate records for the bench press, squat and deadlift. After commissioning as an Officer, Deidre received a Personal Fitness Trainer certification from the San Diego State University in San Diego, California. This education and training enabled Dee to serve as the Physical Fitness Leader for five different units throughout her military career, a role held directly accountable for the Personal Fitness Testings, standards, and wellness programs of over 800 enlisted sailors during her 10 year Naval Career.

 

 

Anne Caterino, MSW, MPH, LSW

 

Anne's interest in wellness began in college, where she was the Health and Fitness representative for her dormitory. She received a B.A. in Psychology with honors from Mount Holyoke College. Anne went on to work in the mental health field and graduated from Boston University's dual degree program with a Master of Social Work and a Master of Public Health. Professionally she has provided case management and counseling to individuals, families, and groups with a focus on health promotion and disease prevention. Anne's passion for holistic health, complementary, and integrative care began during her pregnancy with her first child. She has been Reiki II Certified since 2006. Anne is a Licensed Social Worker (LSW) in the state of Pennsylvania. Besides wellness, Anne's interests include girls' empowerment, mindfulness, nutrition, spirituality and running.

 

 

Master Mike Pannulla, Self Defense Instructor

Master Mike Pannulla is the Owner and Head Instructor of Magnus Karate, LLC located in West Chester, PA. Currently he holds the rank of 4th Degree Black Belt in the Korean Karate-Do style of Tang Soo Do (promoted May 2008). Master Pannulla has been a passionate and dedicated student of the arts since October of 1995 under the direction of his teacher and mentor, Sabomnim John McManus. Master Pannulla has also received instruction in Tang Soo Do, Japanese/Okinawan Karate-Do, and Kobudo from Master Lee Clarkson of Milford, DE.

After achieving his fourth degree black belt rank (2008) Master Pannulla spent the following four years traveling and studying with multiple instructors. During his initial time of exploration Master Pannulla was exposed to and trained in Shotokan Karate, Goju Ryu Karate, Shorin Ryu Karate, and Okinawan Kobudo. At the present time he continues to travel and study with like minded martial artists. Master Pannulla has also competed in and won numerous local, regional, national, and international championships during his martial training career.

Master Pannulla is an advocate for allowing students to have the ability to critically think while in the classroom, and believes his purpose as a martial educator is to act as guide and a source of motivation. For this reason he chooses to teach all of the classes that are offered at Magnus Karate each week. He is proud to say that his passions are teaching, studying, and training in Karate on a daily basis. Master Pannulla is a native of the Greater Philadelphia area, living in Coatesville, PA for most of his life.

In 2006, he earned a B.S. in Sport and Recreation Management from Temple University in Philadelphia, PA. Rabiya Bower, R.D. and Nutritionist

As a registered dietitian/ in-store nutritionist for GIANT Food Stores, I love talking about healthy food and teaching others about making nutritious (and tasty!) choices. My expertise is in nutrition education and community outreach, with a focus on diabetes management, childhood nutrition and family meal planning. At the store, I can help you find healthy foods, create enjoyable meals, and manage medical conditions. I look forward to working with you to reach your health goals!

Rabiya works out of the Flourtown GIANT located at 1874 Bethlehem Pike and the Exton GIANT located at 141 E. Swedesford Road. At the store, she provides one-on-one consultations, hosts cooking classes for kids,and provides store tours for a variety of health topics.  She earned her B.S. in Nutritional Sciences from the Pennsylvania State University and completed her dietetic internship at Cedar Crest College with a focus on community nutrition. Edna Valentino, Life Coach & Certified Personal Trainer

 

Edna Valentino developed her passion for fitness while working as a producer at QVC. She competed in fitness competitions successfully and decided to quit her “day job” to become a personal trainer. Her biggest learning was that if we can all feel good in our skin, we will find the courage to do great things in other areas of our lives. As a life coach, Edna helps women “ignite their power” to set goals and create the steps to achieve them. Her message “don’t be afraid to be great” is one that she brings home to her husband, son and daughter on a daily basis.

 

 

Lara Krawchuk, MSW, LCSW, MPH

Lara is the Owner and Clinical Director of Healing Concepts, LLC a private counseling and consulting practice in West Chester, PA.  Her clinical specialties include bereavement, living losses, physical illness, professional compassion fatigue, stress management, teens in transition & trauma.  She facilitates the Chester County Hospital’s Coping with Cancer support group and participates regularly in Unite for Her Breast Cancer Wellness Days.  She enjoys working clinically with diverse individuals, couples and families.  For many years, Lara has taught MSW classes for University of Pennsylvania School of Social Policy & Practice and West Chester University MSW program, including; Advanced Clinical Practice, Human Behavior in the Social Environment, Issues in Death, Dying and Terminal Illness and Loss Across A Lifecycle.   She is a national lecturer on issues of grief & loss, physical illness & caregiving, guided imagery, creative healing and compassion fatigue.  She wrote two chapters for, Techniques of Grief Therapy: Creative Practices for Counseling the Bereaved, edited by Robert Neimeyer, PhD.  For more information contact Lara at 610-209-3111 or visit http://www.healingconceptsllc.com/
